The toy is 13 tall making it a giant among all mechanical toys made from any materials including tin, celluloid & composition. This toy is made from card stock with a little bit of wood & a tiny bit of metal both of which are used in the mechanism. Unmarked but known to have been made in Spain circa 1934. Spanish toy makers made toys incorporating Walt Disney characters along with Felix the Cat & Betty Boop, all with out authorization. The toys were produced for the local market & not intended for export.
This giant clicker captures the true Mickey Mouse of the early 1930s & found on toys & other collectibles from Germany. The oversized head & large red tongue, the sharply elongated nose & 5 fingers are all seen on German postcards from the early 1930s. When activated in back the big head moves & toy makes a loud clicker noise. One arm is part of the head & moves with the head. The googly eyes jump around.The legs are attached with string to the clicker mechanism & can dance when mechanism is activated. There is a crease along the bottom of 1 ear. There are other small creases in various places but only the ear crease stands out.
