This single, original, vintage card was issued in France in 1937. It was originally part of a set of 100 cards. This set is in many respects very similar to the Italian issue of the previous year. Several of the cards feature the same image, but with different colors or image focus.
There are numerous differences however, including a number of cards featuring dual images and popular sayings, such as a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, in French of course. Another difference is that the text is printed below the image, as opposed to the Italian set which has the text in the image.
It was issued as a promotional insert with various products of the day, including shoe polish, chocolates and personal care items. This card is in approximately EX condition. It measures approximately 1 9/16" x 2 9/16".
